What we do

Six ways to sharpen the story.

Pick the engagement that fits the moment. Or stack them.

What we move

Accelerated growth. Leadership dynamics. Client connection.

Accelerated growth.

We make your proposition seen, trusted and buyable.

Leadership dynamics.

We help your teams transform from transactional sellers into trusted advisors.

Client connection.

We write the story your market repeats back to you in their own words.

How we work

The Mirror. The Message. The Plan.

Every engagement runs on the same three phases. Six to twelve weeks. End to end. Branded the same way, tuned for whatever you walked in with.

01

The Mirror

We show you what you look like to the C-level buyer.

02

The Message

We build a message that connects.

03

The Plan

We help you take it to your audience.

They nail the brief each time. They understand the challenges of landing messaging and positioning in large, matrixed organisations.

They’ve helped us position service offerings, create thought leadership and build sales enablement.

A market leader, not sounding like one

IBM Global Business Services had the capability. The pitch room didn’t reflect it.

“My sales and client relationship teams were underperforming. Dan and the team used simple techniques focused on the client first to hold the mirror up to us about how bad our interactions were. Has it worked? You bet. Win rates are up.” – Christine Wyatt, General Manager, GBS, IBM

Dan Ilett Dan Ilett, founder
Who runs this

From newsroom to boardroom.

Dan Ilett is a specialist in CEO storytelling. His work has shaped $1bn in closed deals for IBM, Google, Microsoft, LG, SEB, RaboBank and the UK Government. He has coached Fortune and FTSE CEOs on the commercial narrative, the speech and the media handling that surround the highest-stakes moments: crisis, change, product launches, growth milestones, fundraises and exits. He chairs the City CIO Club, a private network for technology leaders.

He came up through journalism, writing for the Financial Times, Economist Group, Daily Telegraph, New York Times and a string of tech publications. He went on to launch his own, founding Greenbang (cited by the UN and European Commission) and CoinDesk, where he was founding editor. He has also worked in FTSE transformation, commercial delivery and digital media companies.

With AI such a hot topic, he edits and publishes The Executive Summary, an enterprise AI weekly briefing for 2,000+ CEOs.

Common questions

Before you book the call.

What changes after we work together?
Your team stops disagreeing on what to say. Sales stops winging the deck. The CEO walks into the boardroom with one line that lands. Win rates rise because pitches sound like one company instead of seven. Pipeline closes faster because buyers understand you in the first sixty seconds.
What does the deliverable look like?
That depends. The CEO goes first. Then the rest of the C-suite. A positioning document the CMO can run on. A deck the sales team can present cold. A homepage that converts traffic. A speech your CEO can own on stage. A research report your board can read in a sitting. Whatever the engagement, you walk out with an artefact, not a slideware library.
Who is this for?
CEOs, CMOs, CCOs, founders and heads of strategy. We focus on mid-market and early-stage challengers in enterprise tech, financial services and professional services. Where one good story can move the year.
How are you different from a brand or marketing agency?
We are not an agency. Agencies make decks. AI can write sentences. We are commercial performance practitioners with backgrounds in journalism. FT, Economist, the boardroom. And in high-stakes pitches, presentations and dealmaking. Exits. Raises. The biggest-check moments of a company's life. We have shaped $1bn in closed deals. We work in sprints. We hold people to account. We are not yes people. Once we have shown you the gap, your team does the work and we get them there.
What does an engagement look like?
Six to twelve weeks, depending on the deal. We move fast. We always assess the position, the bid and the buyer first. Then we show you the best way forward.
Do you write the speeches and pitches yourself?
Yes. Hand in hand with you. Senior people on the brief. No juniors on the line. If a CEO is going on stage in front of three thousand people, the words come from a senior writer who has done it before.
How do you use AI?
We use AI in our research and data modelling. To reach more buyers. To find patterns hiding in your data. To model outcomes from different positions. We use it less in the work itself. AI is often off-target on the language and context the C-suite needs. We tell clients how we use it and always work inside their security and privacy policies.
Where are you based and who do you work with?
London. We work globally. Most clients sit in the UK, US or Europe. We have run programmes for banks in nine markets and tech firms across three continents.
